Friendliness Cleanliness Value for Money
Comments: Although the posted room rate is US$15 per person B&B, we were offered the same for US$6 without serious negotiation. At US$6 B&B, this hotel gets 5 stars for "Value for Money". Rooms have 2 single beds, nightstand, AC, and WC with hot shower, sit-down toilet, and sink. Bath towels are provided but toilet paper is not. Breakfast is crepes, bread, jam, cheese, sausage, fruit, and tea.

Find the teahouse next to Hotel Lolita south of the main east-west pedestrian road within the old city walls.
US$10 per person with 3 meals.
Friendliness Cleanliness Value for Money
Comments: The house is about 3 minutes walk from the Tea House Choyhona. Rooms have beds and floor sleeping. Shared WC has hot shower and sit-down toilet. Bath towels are not provided but toilet paper is. Included meals served at the Tea House are substantial. Most of the family speaks English. Because the family's teenagers occupy the house telephone for most of the day, another way to reach the proprietor is to telephone the museum next to TEA HOUSE CHOYHONA (tel: 8-362-375-5390) and ask for Zarafshan (mother).

150 Ok-Saroy Street. 1 minute walk NE of Guri Emir Mausoleum.
US$10 per double room with WC, including breakfast.
Friendliness Cleanliness Value for Money
Comments: This friendly family provides superb accommodation with one drawback: they cannot register foreign guests with OVIR. We had this problem solved for us from our stay in Bukhara. The Bukhara registration had a check-in date and a blank check-out date. We simply claimed to be in Bukhara for all the days we were in Samarkand by filling in a later check-out date on our Bukhara registration paper.

The room at Dilshoda B&B has 2 single beds, nightstand, and WC with hot shower, sit-down toilet, and sink. Bath towels and toilet paper are provided. Meals are delicious, which is very unusual by Uzbek standards. We were charged Us 3000 per person for dinners we requested. The younger family members speak limited English.

56-58 Iskandarov Street. 1 minute walk NE of Guri Emir Mausoleum.
US$15 per person in a room with WC, including breakfast.
Friendliness Cleanliness Value for Money
Comments: Since all guest rooms were occupied, we were housed in a disorderly room, probably used for the B&B staff, for US$7 per person including breakfast. The manager wouldn't register us with OVIR, lied, and made our stay unwelcome.
