| Comments: Dorm sleeping without dinner or breakfast is ITL 30,000 per person. A shower token for a 3 minute scalding hot - freezing cold (no middle temperature) shower is an additional ITL 8000. This refuge has private rooms and dorms. The price per person in either is the same. Better rooms go to those who arrive earlier, regardless of reservation. Private rooms have a steel bunk bed. The dorm bed is a wide plank of wood with 10-20 mattresses side-by-side. Dinner is bread, soup, salad, a main dish with side, and fruit. Breakfast is bread, jam, and tea or coffee. This refuge is the best overnight for hikers crossing the border from France. Bath towels are not provided but toilet paper is. Reservations and an early arrival (by 16:00) are high recommended. | ||||||

The speed, however, is so slow (anywhere between 1 - 22 bytes per second - note: bytes, not kilobytes) that most people don't bother. Hotel is located near the Duomo and Chiesa di Santa Maria Novella. The hotel owners assisted us with hotel reservations in other cities and declined payment for the phone and fax calls. | ||||||||||
